General Raheel Sharif
General Raheel Sharif is one of the most famous generals in the history of Pakistan. Presently general Raheel is most famous nationally and internationally. Reason is that after his tenure he has controlled on the terrorism as well as the corruption in Pakistan.
Pakistan army has claimed that they have nearly finished the terrorists from our homeland. The circumstances of Karachi are also completely controlled by General Raheel Sharif.
In the history we have seen that many generals got so famous in the beginning but their end was so atrocious. Like Ayub khan was firstly appreciated by everyone, but at the end he was dislodged badly.
General Pervez Musharraf, who is well known to every one because of his agility and comprehension. He was also distinguished in the sight of every one early but at the end, his after math also became abominable.
26 years before there was a general who was much-publicized and admired. His name was Mirza Aslam Baig. He was appointed as the VCOAS by late general Zia Ul Haq. After the demise of Zia Ul Haq, he became the COAS in 1988.
Some people claim that he Mr. Mirza was involved in the felony of Mr. Zia Ul Haq. But this is also said that Mr. Zia himself instructed general Mirza to come on another plane.
General Mirza Aslam Baig was pro-democratic person, and after he became COAS, he didn’t continue the policies of general Zia. In an interview he told that he also suggested general Zia to stop dictatorship but general Zia refused saying, “Mirza do you want a noose in my neck.”
When Benazir came to power many of the army officials suggested general Mirza to finish her government, because she was young and was not going to run according to army, but general Mirza refused saying “Now it’s time for democracy.”
In 1990, Benazir government was dismissed by Ishaq khan. To an interview on vice of America, Benazir claimed that general Mirza was also involved in her discharge. In the regime of Benazir, she decided to change the Lt. Gen Hamid Gul, ISI chief of that time and to select a chief out of army for ISI. General Mirza was happy about the decision of Benazir regarding Hamid Gul, because Lt. Gen Hamid Gul was so much involved in the political matters; but General Mirza wanted ISI chief from the army. Therefore he gave her list of names of his own choice but Benazir didn’t change her mind.
Gen Mirza was not happy from this act of Benazir. In 1992 Nawaz Sharif became the PM of Pakistan. In his era, America formed a group of forces to oust the Iraqi forces from Kuwait.
General Mirza refused to send Pak forces to join Americans and sent them a message to America, warning them that “Kuwait will become another Vietnam for America.”
On this announcement Nawaz Sharif became resented from general Mirza and didn’t extend his tenure and Mirza retired.
After retirement general Mirza joined politics and became part of the PMLN.
General Mirza tried to reorganize the PMLN using his popularity but he failed to do so. A banker named Younus stood against general Mirza claiming that general Mirza has used 6 million rupees from the treasure of government and distributed among his followers and the politicians who helped him to select the leaders of his own will.
General Mirza strongly confuted this statement but this was not going to be end easily. This avowal arranted general Mirza, and he is still facing that case. Many people say that Mr. Younus was made stand by his repugnant
