I am a Pakistani-American and the trump’s rise threaten
me Donald Trump, who is an American Presidential
candidate and well known for his Anti-Muslim statements. As a Pakistani Muslim
American, I am concerned about all the Muslim parents who have many sacrifices for
their children to get adjusted in America.
I
remember the time when my parents brought my brother from Pakistan to me in
2000. I remember the time after 911, when the hate for Muslims was on top in America
and how our parents suffered living in such condition.
Now
the statements of Donald Trump has re embarrassed the Muslims of America saying
to oust the Muslims.
I love America as my country and this is bitter to get
understood as a suspicion in your own country innocently.
Donald Trump’s bigoted rhetoric has made Muslim’s embarrassed
again. He exploited - the fears of a country suffering from the terrorism and
economic crisis.
Elaborating the world wide concept about the Muslims for their
untrustworthy etc. he has provided the simple scapegoat for the problems the
country is facing.
Trumps rhetoric has tangible effects.
According to the New York Times, “Hate for the American Muslims
has increased more than ever, after the terrorist attacks in United States.
It should be unacceptable that few people in US are trying to
scapegoat a whole religious group. But given the success of the campaign of
Donald trump, it seems to increase in the hate crimes against Muslims.
The rhetoric of Donald trump has endangered the safety of
Muslims. His policies about the foreign immigrants, seems to affect the
Pakistani immigrants as well.
On his website, Trump has given a statement regarding the
immigrant’s to decrease their number and letting the potential immigrants come
after ideology based tests to ensure their assimilation.
He has also discussed asking applicants “for their views about honor
killings, about respect for women and gays and minorities, attitudes on
"radical Islam", and many other topics as part of the vetting
procedure”.
He has also discussed asking the immigrants “about their beliefs
regarding honor killing, gays, lesbians and “the radical Islam”.
This shows that Trump want’s to target Muslims especially the
Pakistani immigrants.
The wall street journal has reported recently that “the
immigrants are less likely to commit crimes more than the native population or
to be incarcerated.”
I am also concerned with trump’s alienation of Latin and Mexican
Americans.
As a woman, I am also concerned for the disrespect he has shown
for the women and misogyny.
I am also concerned with the increasing police crimes against
the black Americans, and in the presence of the bigotry of the Trump, it doesn’t
seem safe for the black Americans.
Donald trump’s campaign worries me not only as a Pakistani but
also an American.
Now it’s up to the people of America to make the difference and
understand the person who has too much bigotry and has also alienated many of
us.
