Indus water treaty
Indus water treaty was a treaty between
Pakistan and India happened on 19thseptember
1960.Gen Ayub khan was the president of Pakistan at that time. According to
that treaty three of the rivers flowing from India to Pakistan were declared to
use by Pakistan and three of the rivers flowing from Pakistan to India were
declared to be used by India.
Now days after Uri accident, India is claiming that Pakistan is involved
in this accident. India is threatening Pakistan to start a war. Majority of Intellectuals
in India are not in favor of war; first because both the countries are nuclear
powers and on the other hand India does not have her own technology to make
many of the war weapons and air crafts. However Pakistan and China are making
aircrafts mutually.
Seeing that India cannot confront power of
Pakistan and China, India also cannot trust USA. Therefore in order to mismanage
Pakistan India is about to violate the IWT. Many intellectuals claim that this
is the policy of India and America to stop the sea pack project between
Pakistan and India.
India also wants to stop the voices of
Kashmiri people and the actual face of India is coming in front of the whole
world. After the completion of the sea pact project Pakistan and India will
develop so much which India and USA could not bear, therefore America is also
exerting pressure on Pakistan to stop this stuff with China.
On the action of India on IWT China has also given threat to India to
stop the rivers from China to India. Nearly 37% water of India is coming from
China therefore India is highly in trouble regarding IWT.
